ssscottg
I am thinking of upgrading the surrounds for my system. What is a good match for the KLF line? I am looking at the RS-3, RS-42 thru RS-62. Am on the right track here? My room is about 24 by 24 floor carpeted with a high baffle like a concert hall. wuzzzer
Fortunately for surround speakers it isn't quite as crucial to match them to your front speakers as far as being from the same series. Of the 3 you listed I'd recommend the RS-42s. You should be able to pick up a pair for $250-300. If you do want a 'fuller' sounding speaker you can always use a floorstanding speaker if you have the room. My surrounds are KG 3.5s that stand a little over 35" tall. I paid $150 for them. I used to have a pair of RS-42s as surrounds and they did a really good job but I bought the KGs and found that I like having a more full-range speaker as a surround speaker. KLF-10s would work, most any of the taller KG series would work also. What I like about using floorstanding speakers is you don't have to worry about wall-mounting them or getting stands for them and you can re-position them very easily if you move furniture or re-arrange your room. Its a lot harder to do that with speakers that are mounted on the wall.
ssscottg
Hey there, The RS-42 seem to be a good value at these prices. I found the Sub 12 for$349 which is a good deal. Thanks, Scott
M6 Driver
If you can find them from years past the KSP-S6 would work well or another set of KLF 20's would be magical!
