Force21
Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum as I just got a set of the v2-400 several weeks ago. I got a great deal on it though, I guess the store were making way for the new 4.1 Pro. Excellent set of speakers btw. Much better sound quality that I expected. Way better than my old pair of Yamaha. Now I can rock the building. I think several of my neighbors had a *chat* with my landlord. Anyway, about my question, since the v2-400 don't have an on/off switch, is it safe to leave it plugged in all the time? This won't cause any damage to the sub, right? Also, is it better to plug the sub directly to a wall outlet or to a surge protector. Thanks everybody!
rol1
Someone posted that the pros use 4 watts in standby. 50 cents a month? It's always good to use protection.
Gondor
In essence the pros are off, they go into a standby mode when not in use, and I have had my set for more than a year now and never unplugged them except to move them from home to college, and they still work beautifully. So, IMHO it doesnt hurt to leave them plugged in, or they would have put an on-off switch. You may have noticed that the CP-1 that you can order has an on-off switch, but the switch doesnt actually turn the pros off, just places them in standby
