TheEAR
HUH the 440W Klipsch plate amp?!You mean the plate amp on the KSW12.Its not to be sold as a separate piece,as I know. The 440W rating is not RMS but a peak, still good to drive most subs.I would estimate this amp would cost 150USD at most. Its no Krell after all(discovery huh). Found my KSW series manual and here it what it says... KSW 12 Peak output power 441 watts into 4 ohms FTC Rated Power: 105 watts continuous into 4 ohms, 22-100Hz @ 1% THD maximum I guess Into 8 Ohms this plate amp delivers around 50-65 watts and around 250 watts on peaks. TheEAR
"so are there any amps from klipsch that provide about 400 watts rms into 4 ohms?" NO,there are none made If you want a very high quality plate amp Bryston makes a 400W RMS into 4 Ohms unit. Its NOT cheap but for a sub its THE amp plate, about a grand!Yes ~ $1000! Bryston is known for durability no other can match and bass power few can surpass(Krell can). TheEAR(s) Now theears
dougdrake2
Eric - Try calling Klipsch at 1-800-KLIPSCH and asking about replacement parts. They may be able to help you. Doug ------------------ My System
