forum_crawler
Hi there, I have an RC-62 as my center and RF-82s as my front speakers. I just found these JBL es80s, and I am wondering if they would be a good match to my Klisch as rear/surround speakers. The subwoofer will most likely be a Velodyne DLS4000R/5000R. I am not completely set on the receiver, but it is likely to be a Pioneer VSX-9040. I watch movies and will listen to music on a regular basis with this set up. Thanks a lot for your help, I am still getting my head around all these goodies.
wuzzzer
They will have a much different sound than your Klipsch since they don't have a horn tweeter. Their sensitivity is also somewhat low at 90dB. They look pretty decent though. How much can you get the JBLs for?
forum_crawler
Best buy is having a super deal for 350 for the two. So I thought I would ****** a pair and run them as my surround speakers. I also have a 200 gift card that is itching to be spent! Thanks for you reply! wuzzzer
That is decent, 30% off retail. But, if you have a Best Buy gift card, why don't you pick up a pair of Klipsch surround speakers there? They'll be a much better match to your fronts.
forum_crawler
Hi there, the silly guys from BestBuy here in Canada do not carry the reference series... Also, my wife just told me she doesn't want another set of "big ugly" speakers around, so it seems like I have to go the bookshelf route... What would be best? RS-52s, 42s, or RB-51s, 61s? Thanks! wuzzzer
RS-42 will be the best bang for the buck. Speakers from the Icon series will work well if your Best Buy carries them.
forum_crawler
How about those Icon VS-14 surround speakers? would those be a goodmatch? Would I be missing anything by going with those instead of say,the RS-42/52s? Considering the price difference is quite significant... How about BOSE 201 series V. They sounded OK at the store... sorry if I am such noob, I am still learning Thanks!
wuzzzer
The Icons would be 1000 times better than any Bose.
