Altec Lansing Model 19's

mpg---Typical Altec 2-way sound and a refinement of the Valencia; compared to the LaScala has much deeper bass. Midrange is much smoother than LaScala and with wider dispersion, highs are softer than LaScala but very nice sounding. Some people think Altecs are a little shy on the very top, I think they're fine. Not as efficient as the LaScala, about 98db 1w1m. This was the last Altec big home horn 2-way before the company went purely prosound and is a very refined speaker and the product of over 40 years of development. The compression drivers use the radially slotted "tangerine" phase plug for better highs and the crossover was moved up from 800 to 1200 hz for a better match between the dispersion patterns of the woofer and horn at crossover. Some Altec fans think the 19 was the finest home speaker Altec ever made. Very nice cabinets, don't you think?
