Need advice or input ( strange hum )

Last night I got home from work and went down to play some tunes on the 2 channel setup, as soon as I turned everything on, I had a very audible hum coming through the khorns. Im thinking this aint good. I went ahead and put a cd in the player and could barely hear the music and it was distorted and the hum was all I could hear and it would increase as I turned the volumn up.

Im running very nice Mcintosh preamp and mono power amps with a modified Denon dvd player as my cd player and a ps audio dac. with Richard Gray power conditioners. I unplugged everything including all my interconnects and replugged everything back in and still had the same hum. It would only hum on the cd2 input not any other input. The dac is running through the cd2 input so I started to unpulg all connections from the dac while powered up and the hum reduced a good bit but still there.

While the interconnect was disconnected from the dac but still connected to the preamp and still power up, I touch the disconnected end of the interconnects and it would cause a terrible hum. Messed around with it a little longer, disconnecting and reconnecting and the hum mysteriously went away, dead quite.

Played some music for a while, dead quite, checked it this morning , dead quite. Any thoughts or advice.

Thanks , Randy
