I don't have the ears to say anything about the difference in midrange and all that. They are loud as all hell, just like the old version thats a fact. The neighbors are weeping already i'm sure. DVD movies sound incredible. Love the headphone and input plugs. All in all, i'm glad i upgraded from the old version. Thumbs up from me....
