Ironsave
I just scored a mint set of KG 4s for $125. (Going to pick up now)..... Besides being 2 way vs. 3 way; is there any chance these will give my Heresies a run for their money? I believe I may use the Heresies for 2 channel on a seperate system..... Also, being that these KG4s have the radiators in the back; what is best placement? I will try to post pics later.....
willland
Besides being 2 way vs. 3 way; is there any chance these will give my Heresies a run for their money? No. The Heresy's are more articulate and smoother all around plus they have that classic Heritage sound that is addicting. With that said, the KG4's are no slouch and probably a better bang for the buck speaker at today's used prices. Also, being that these KG4s have the radiators in the back; what is best placement? Corners are better but if away from corners pull them about 10 to 14 inches off wall. Bill
Ironsave
Bill, thanks for the replies...... Unfortunately; the seller pulled the bait and switch. They were in fact KG2s, in good condition, but not great. Anyhow, I am thinking these might be nice for the bedroom...... $85 may be worth it, but am debating......... willland
Ironsave, The bait and switch is not cool but I have heard that the KG2's sound better than the KG4's. Clermontcop owns a few pairs of the KG2's and he can better tell you the difference in sound quality. $85.00 for a pair does not seem bad at all. Go for it. Put them in a vintage 2 channel set up with a Marantz or Sansui receiver and you should be pleased. Bill
Ironsave
Well, I got 'em. After some light sanding and oil; they look gorgeous. They were in better shape than I thought. They sound harsher than my H1s; but I suspect the right amp/receiver will rectify that. Bill; thanks again.....
