djk
You need an electronic crossover and another amplifier. Actually, you need a subwoofer too. The Cerwin Vega JE-36C qualifies as no real bass (unless you have a stack of at least four.) The correction factor for 1W/1M is 23dB, so it hits its rated 106dB up around 200hz. It's only in the mid 90s around 50hz (dance music bass). Oh, the graph is a full-sized CV Earthquake bin, 36" deep. The JE-36C has a much shorter horn path and has much less bass. kg4guy
I have listened to these before and they were impressive so will a EQ help as the set up I listened to had just one with a pair of two way Peaveys with 12's ?
djk
Why don't you do it and find out for yourself? When you find out it doesn't really cut it, you will have on hand the amplifier and an electronic crossover to actually drive a real subwoofer. kg4guy
It will be at my house on Tuesday via UPS so I will set it up and check it out sometime this week and if I can't make it work I will build another pair of La scala bass bins and use those. Thanks
djk
A LaScala? Another small folded horn with no real bass. Why bother? Dance music has its peak output in the 55hz region, with strong output to 40hz. http://www.danleysoundlabs.com/pdf/TH%20115%20Spec%20Sheet.PDF The TH115 is about the same size as the CV, but has 10dB more output in the 50hz region.
