What Should I Do?

I bought an Aragon D2A and after a few years of great service it needed repair. So I called klipsch's support # for Aragon and Acuras equipment and they directed me to Paul Rosenberg at Mondial Designes in New York. He instructed me to send it to Av Technical also in New York. They got the unit and had the unit for 3 weeks and said they found no fault with it. But then proceeded to tell me that I would have to pay 50.00 for the tech that looked at it. no problem I said. but then he proceeded to tell me that it was damaged during shipping. and he said that it was packed incorrectly and it was my fault. Mind you I had spoken to Paul Roenberg on many occations about this component and not once did he mention that it was damaged during shipping. I had shipped it insured via FEDEX and had they told me within 48 hours of recipt I could have filed a claim with them. But no they waited 3 weeks to tell me so now I am out the damaged face plate on this unit. When I called to complain and ask them to rectify the situation I was once again directed to Paul Rosenberg who with an atitude told me if I wanted it replaced I could pay another 50.00 for the face plate and send it back and he would install it for me and charge me labor to do so.

I sincerely hope you see this post and can put me in touch with someone who can help resolve this situation.

I would agree with you however AV Technical is who Klipsch uses to do their repairs in this region. If Av Technical is indeed a subcontracted company for klipsch then wouldn't they be obligated to report the damage to Klipsh when it was first seen. and since I was instructed to send my unit to them I by a Klipsch representative I would think that Klipsch should assume the resposibility of notifying me of the damage so I can claim it. now I do understand that we are talking only 100.00 for this repair but it should not be my responsibility it should be thiers.

No the unit is out of warrantee. I did pay for the "repair" that they found nothing wrong. But it was obviously damaged either in shipment too them or while in thier possesion. If it happened during shipment to them then the right thing on thier part would have been to notify me or Fedex right away and not wait 3 weeks to tell me.

OK. So I guess all I can contribute is this thought. If Klipsch is actually subcontracting the work to AV Technical (IOW, Klipsch is billing you for the repair work), then Klipsch should be in the loop on this. If they just gave you AV Technical's name as a repair source, then it's just 'tween you and them, I would think. But, I've been wrong quite a bit lately Smile.gif

Yes, indeed... for more than half-a-century, there is MORE to buying Klipsch than Great Sound! That's why my first choice in buying Klipsch is the neighborhood audio store that supports the Klipsch way of doing business.

BobG, thanks for keeping the PaulK tradition alive and well in the FredK era. -HornEd
