comintel
When I insert the S2m plug into my Nokia 5310, a message appears: "Enhancement not supported" and it totally ignores the headphone and uses the speaker instead. The Klipsch FAQ says: "Does the Image S2m work with all cell phones? The Image S2m is compatible with virtually all phones that have a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Consult your cell phone owners manual for compatibility." The Nokia has a 3.5 mm jack. Nokia is one of the largest (maybe the largest) cellphone manufacturers in the world. I called Klipsch technical support and they were unhelpful. Further research indicates that this is a known problem with the Klipsch headphone. I attach a copy of the Nokia 3.5 mm AV jack specification. Evidently the Klipsch headphone is failing the tests outlined in it. Can anything be done about this? Boberz3
Are these the first headphones you have ever used on your phone? Have you ever tried any other pair of headphones on your phone? I'm not sure, but I would doubt that it is specifically the Klipsch branded headphones your phone is rejecting. You should try other headphones and see if those work too. I would guess that your phone might be like mine which has a manufacture fix on it that makes it confined to only allowing specific product upgrades. Some companies use this tactic to make more money from you by making you buy their accessories.
comintel
Bob, Thanks but other headphones do work ok. The others did not have integrated mike and controls though. I agree that Nokia would like to sell Nokia headphones but they have published the specs of their jack. By the way are you sure about what you say? Maybe it is just an excuse' by the headphone manufacturer. Don
