Hey guys,

I have the itch to upgrade!, and have been looking for rf-82's used in the phila area for months now with now luck. I recently came upon rf-35's in prestine condition for under 400. I have seriously been thinking about this deal. This is what i have now (2) rb-61 (2) RS-42(1) rc-52 (1) rw-10d. So the question is such. Will i notice a different sound being that they are the ref III model. 2. Will i care about the Difference. 3. how much different are they from the 82's

Thanks in advance!

I think most of your speakers will work well together. If you decide to jump on the RF-35 deal, try to find an RC-35 and sell your RC-52 so your front soundstage will be seamless. Even if you do not have any luck finding an RC-35, replace the RC-52 with an RC-62.

Here is an RC-35 for sale. Maybe the seller will ship.

I agree, the RC-52 is a great speaker for RF-10 and the RF-52, if planning on upgrading I would look to upgrade my center first to at least the RC-62, if you got a pair of RF-82's you would notice that your current center would not be able to keep up.

You think it will make that much of a difference with the rf-35's?

How about this. If you can afford it, get the RF-35's. Try it out with the RC-52 and then decide if a further center upgrade will be beneficial. Do a white noise test going from left to center to right and then back again. After that put in a DVD that has scenes that pan from left to right and listen carefully to see if there is a timbre difference. You decide at that point if they sound good together. You could always upgrade later when $$$ become available.
