CapZark
They are too simple in design to take to a shop. First, see if it's the amp. Did you hook up another speaker and see if it buzzes too? If so, it's not the Belles. Next, disconnect one driver at a time to see which one might be buzzing. If that doesn't solve the problem then it might be in the crossover (doubt it though). You can buy new crossovers, or a new driver from Crites for a couple hundered bucks (less than the shop fee) and your set.
Coytee
welcome to the forum. 1. Is the static in both speakers? 2. If only in one, can you switch speaker leads to see if static stays in same speaker or moves to the other speaker 3. If in both, can you attach them to another receiver or something to take your electronics totally out of the picture? The above is to try to discern if it's in the speaker(s) or the electronics. Frank1938
You didn't give us much to work with. If the sound is coming out of both speakers, I would look first at the Carver equipment and everything connected to it. Disconnect everything going into your preamp first. If you still have the static, disconnect the preamp. If still there, off to the shop. If it is just one speaker, switch connections to see if it goes to the other speaker. Frank Edit: Wow, you guys type faster than I do.[]
