John0392
This same question has probably been asked and answered a few times but I can't find it. How would one go about hooking a second receiver into an AVR receiver so one could use the phone input. AVR has none. I would have to disable the amp section on the add on receiver. There are inputs on the AVR for adding; however, not sure about the other one. Can you go through the tape mode? Kind of short on cash at the moment and don't want to have to go and buy a phone pre-amp. I have the additional receiver though. thanks,
WMcD
I think you want to hook the phono to the "old" amp. The old amp will have a tape out or an aux out. The AVR will have an unused line level input like "CD" or "Aux" or "VCR". Just connect the tape out or line out of the old amp to the unused input of the AVR. You may find that if you use the tape out of the old unit, the volume control of the old unit will not have an effect. I don't know if the same will be true if you use an "aux out."
