ken kaczmarz
Just set up a newHT. Replaced full Heritage system (chorus IIs, academy, heresys) with the new RF-7II, RC-64, RD 62, RB 81. Sounds amazing. There clearly is dramatically more high frequency sound. Way more..even my 11 year old daughter picked it up immediately. But While listening to a Genesis SACD at high volume, I hear a ring that I have never heard. I am sure it is echo. I am in a 30x20 room. The HT occupies half of it, 15x20. The walls are hard, The floor is tile, i have a couple of area rugs. The ceiling is suspended. It is a basement. I am thinking of buying some panels. Looking at acoustimac and ATS acoustic. Any comments about the ring or the panels? Kaz
Moderators Youthman Posted February 22, 2011 Moderators Share Posted February 22, 2011 Try a single loud clap with the room quiet. It will reveal echoes in the room.
Jay481985
Although it may sound silly, if you can find a large cardboard box (good size 4X5 piece or larger) cut it out and place it on the wall or ceiling that you think the echo is coming from and then you can buy panels that suit the wall and look. Browninggold
Stumbled upon this post while listening to Phil Collins with my RF-7IIs....coincedence maybe but I believe fate has intervened. I have ATS 2'x4'x4" panels and could not be happier-price and look is very good.
