jw5453
Hi all, A question regarding Klipsch THX Ultra 2. From the THX website, I understand that "THX Ultra2 Certified products bring the cinematic experience to larger home theaters, 3,000 cubic feet in size, with a viewing distance of 12 feet or greater from the screen". What if my room has a size of around 10,000 cubic feet in size, with the last row of seats being around 35 feet from the screen. In this case, would the Klipsch THX Ultra 2 set be able to blast the room like how a real cinema should ? Just in case you want to know, the room is a dedicated cinema (proper room acoustics, cinema chairs row by row etc etc) Thanks all =D

cornfedksboy
If you are serious, call Klipsch. They can recommend professional speakers for such a room.
jw5453
Or maybe I should be a little more detailed in the dimension of the room. 12m (length) * 6m (width), which gives a floor area of approximately 750 sqft... Height would be around 3 - 3.5m...
cornfedksboy
I believe THX Ultra II is only certified up to 6000 sq ft. The size of room you are describing is a small commercial theater. To get theater quality sound you will need a commercial grade product.
mcgonzi
Hi, has anyone here in theForum set up the Ultra THX 2 with 4 Subs? If yes, i would like too know if it worth it?
tragusa3
Been there, done that. I tried it in a room of 5500cf. Didn't work. It is certified only to 3000cf.
mcgonzi
Well what I ment was is there à Big diffence if I have 2 or 4 subs?
tragusa3
I think those subs are overmatched for 10,000cf...even four. Depending on expectations of course. But if you're budget can swing four of those, then you can certainly meet your requirements with other options.
mustang guy
What about this monster from Danley? I have been considering it for my 50,000 sf application.
