The La Scala Project... Part Deux

Some of you may remember the rebuild of these La Scalas a little over a year ago. Well... I never was really happy with the appearance. What I really wanted was something that looked more like the La Scala II. To that end I drug them to the garage a month or so ago and set about making some cosmetic changes. The end result is shown below.

I like the contrast of the trim on the top and bottom edges of the tophat but I'm not too keen on the black. What I ended up with is strips of cherry given a wipe of dark walnut stain. The contrast between the cherry and the red oak is much more apparent in person than in the pictures.

Yes they're for sale. Or will be very soon. I've got my heart set on building a pair of cherry Belles but can't fund the project until these are gone.

Come on... I'm a little over an hour from Orlando. The beer is cold and the music is loud... [:D]

They sound pretty good to my ears. What I did as part of this re-do is take them back to all original drivers. They have K-33E (square magnet) woofers, K-55V squawker drivers on new K-401 horns, and K-77M (rectangular magnet) tweeters. The only non-Klipsch parts are the crossovers I built using a derivitive of the ALK Jr. design.
