WTB Belles

I'm in southern California and looking for a pair of Belles in Walnut laquer. Any opinions on whether it's better to buy new or used? Any leads?

killer, i think we're still waiting for the details on the "new" heritage, belles. they've just been recontinued.

can't go wrong w/ the used if in good condition, on like ebay, classifieds www.audiogon.com & such.

I was offered a used pair (vintage 1996 and very poor cosmetically) for $1900 and passed them up.

Quoted $2150 for a new pair.

Any idea what these "recontinued" ones will cost or when they'll be available? What's the diff between regular new?

If you can get a new pair of Belles for $2150, that may be(is) the best price and you should go for it. A used pair can cost between $1100 and $1800, depending on their condition. Unless they are purchased locally, you would still have to add in shipping cost. If you are prepared to spend $2150, used Khorns could also be a consideration around that price if you have the right listening room, and shipping cost would still be additional. Good luck with whatever you purchase. BTW, I own a pair of 1974 Belles.
