jfviper666
Would the Pioneer Elite SC-37 processor (140 wpc X7, 8 ohm, class D) combined with a Outlaw 7700 Amp (200 wpc X7, 8ohm, class AB) work to power a 7 speakers setup (2x RF-83, RC-64, 2x RS-62, 2x RB-81) And first of all, is a class D amp processor to be compatible with a class AB amp? The SC-37 alone will be fine but adding a beast of an amp like the Outlaw will be better. And first of all, is a class D amp processor to be compatible with a class AB amp? You will be using the Pioneer's preouts so you will completely bypass it's amp section. No concerns at all. Bill
jfviper666
Ok so if I bypass the SC-37 internal Amp, this mean overall I get 200 wpc at the end, not 340 wpc total (140 from the SC-37 + 200 from the Outlaw) If so, would 200 wpc be enough for my RC-64 (200W RMS / 800W Peak) and my RF-83s (250W RMS / 1000W Peak) or should I better go with a 3 channel Amp with something around 300 wpc ? Here is a bench test of the Outlaw Audio 7500(5-channel version). I am sure the 7700(7-channel) will have similar results. http://www.hometheater.com/content/outlaw-audio-7500-5-channel-power-amplifier-measurements Outlaw Audio 7500 5-Channel Power Amplifier Measurements Measurements This graph shows that the 7500’s left channel, with two channels driving 8-ohm loads continuously at 1 kHz, reached 0.1% distortion at 284.9 watts and 1% distortion at 342.3 watts. Into 4 ohms, the amplifier reached 0.1% distortion at 447.6 watts and 1% distortion at 492.8 watts. With five channels driven continuously into 8-ohm loads, the AVR reached 0.1% distortion at 260.1 watts and 1% distortion at 301.1 watts. The manufacturer’s stated distortion of 0.03% was reached at 238.7 watts, which is actually higher than the spec'd 200Wpc at that distortion level with all channels driven. I think the Outlaw amp has plenty to spare. Bill
jrod
Monster system. You'll be fine.
SuBXeRo
outlaw makes some really great amps. I would test them out in a heartbeat. They are aiming to release their new processor at the years end as well.
