Dingman
Hey guys, I'm also watching for a tube amp that I can play with (and "learn myself"). Looks like this unit from a church should have a separate tube amp. http://ames.craigslist.org/ele/2560816401.html I know it's a longshot, but any ideas if this amp would be any good in a 2ch setup? Heck, it might not even be a 2ch amp, might be mono. I *think* it's an item like this... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Maas-Rowe-Carillon-Model-74-/170683605670?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27bd8922a6#ht_500wt_1413 EDIT: Well, looks like the best case scenario is that there is a tube amp, but it would geared for PA use. tube fanatic
It's hard to say whether the carillon's amp is SS or tube. But, what have you got to lose to take it and see what's inside? Almost certainly though, it's going to be a mono amp. Depending on the frequency range that it was designed for, it may or may not be suitable for use in a home audio system.
