Use of Vintage Amps

Old is all I can afford and aside from my Denon AVR 3600 HT receiver, all that I own. When I look at the junk on the shelves in many audio retailers these days I'm grateful for my old junk and the willingness of people to trade up and sell on CL. And when the big knob screws itself toward 11, I are even mo' gratefullerer.

I love the vintage stuff too, but remember, they made junk in the 70s too. It just hasn't survived. Also the really great stuff we all desire now was rediculously expensive when it was new. My 33 year old Marantz sold for $400.00 new. Adjusted for inflamation...that's REALLY EXPENSIVE. If you were to buy equally expensive stuff today, chances are it will still be really cool in 25 years.
