Through listening I can't determine if the short is from the tweeter, mid or both? Can a resistance reading on the horns determine whether or not a diapram is cracked? mustang guy Posted January 31, 2012 Share Posted January 31, 2012 I'm with you fritz. The coil thing on one of my La Scala squakers was slightly deformed, and did the same exact thing you mention. I took the speaker apart, and reshaped the coil and it is perfect. Before you go tearing stuff up, do what Carl said, and discern that it is indeed the midrange.
