XxCowboyxX
I have a question about mixing front three heritage speakers with reference surrounds. Mainly with my RB51ii heights in my 9.1 setup. I'm curious how distracting it would be to have lets say 3 La scalas up front and have the rest including height reference
mustang guy
I think it would be a cool experiment. I don't know if anybody has actually done a critique of that kind of a mix on the front wall. Heresy's would be better wide/highs without a doubt. It would be very nice to know what you think of it if you do go that route.
tragusa3
I've got RS62ii as side surrounds along with a 3 LS front and Heresy rears. I don't have any issues with them. If you want bipolar on the sides, you dont really have an option. They have no problem keeping pace with the LS, which was my biggest concern. I blew two other sets of less capable surrounds trying to do so. I experimented with some Acoustic Research speakers as height channels. It didn't go well at all. They didn't have a chance keeping up with the LS, even when level matched they were just swallowed up. I'm not convinced that height channel is worth it. At least not from that experiment.
