BigCliff
I just recently became a very happy owner of some La Scalas. I am looking to improve my system and first off I wanted to get a new amp. I was on the look out for a used McIntosh solid state. I can get a McCormack DNA-1 Deluxe should I pursue it or wait for a Mac? Right now I am using a Kenwood Basic M2A. As always your help is greatly appreciated.
Cornman
Congrats on the new Scalas Cliff. If you have not heard the Scalas in your abode before, seems the safest approach is to sample a few different species of amps- then decide. And oh boy "what fun that can turn into." Of course I am just another old TUBE head,,, so I recommend tubes -- tubes -- []. What else could I possibly say Tubes [:$]
BigCliff
Congrats on the new Scalas Cliff. If tou have not heard the Scalas Thanks. They are beautiful and sound even better and that is coming from a previous forte and Chorus II owner. Now I have the itch to make them sound even better. Cornman
Speaking of Mc gear I have not owned any of there best tube gear, but for the money I highly recommend you listen to the Mc 2505 SS- with the famous Autoformers that put out 50w of very tube like sound. If I had stopped at that point in my amp quest I would have saved myself a bundle of $$$... & still had a way better then average system. Tells us how it sounds to you.
