vandec54
Hello All, I have been kicking around the idea of installing 7 speakers in the ceiling of my basement home theater room 3 in front of the listening area, 2 in middle and 2 in back. I would have a decent sub to supplement these. The area is a family movie / sports on TV watching area. Before answering the questions below, what are your initial thoughts? Questions: 1. Have you heard the Klipsch R-2650-SC speakers, if so what is your opinion? 2. Do you have any recommendations on speaker choices? 3. Along with a good sub, would 7 in-ceiling speakers around the $160 range (per) make my n_ts tingle more or less then my current RF-3 set-up? Thank you
mustang guy
I would not put the front 3 in the ceiling. You should be using wall speakers, bookshelfs, or floor speakers. Having those speakers close to ear level is very important. As for a sub, I have been reading some early good things about the new Klipsch SW-115. It's a bit plain looking, but has some good stats. If you want to look outside Klipsch, then the SVS subs are hard to beat for the price.
ivanhurd
I'm loving my SW-115. It sounds clean and deep. I agree with mustang guy, if you can avoid putting any of the speakers in the ceiling, and put them in the walls, it'd probably sound a lot better overall.
