Folly Time
Hello to all ! I am new to the site. Vintage speakers are especially facinating to me. I need a little help and this site seemed to be the good place to come. I recently bought an Electrovoice " Georgian" Not labled but definitely a K-horn with the speaker mounted from the front instead. I have an Empire 15 inch with a massive magnet that I could use but it occured to me that I needed a Klipsch speaker with a 3-4 ohm impedance. I found a Klipsch K-33-J on the bay. Somebody please tell me whether the K33 is the best to use because of it's impedance. Thank you. I hope that I can contribute here.
Don Richard
If you are going to use the Georgian with Klipsch crossovers and mid/high horns the K33 is certainly your best option. The K33 will also work well if you decide to use EV crossovers and components in your build. Bob Crites sells replacement woofers for the K33 that work well also. Malcolm
EV 15WK would be original IIRC. That was a version of the 15W made to Klipsch specifications with the same impedance but lower resistance.
