noobboy612
what fuse needed for rw-12d please?
djk
The same exact one as what is in it (2A 250V), and then when it blows instantly, send it to the repair shop. "So here is the issue: I have a Klipsch RW-12d sub that has decided not to power up. I first replaced the fuse and when flipping the switch it immediately blows the fuse. I have checked the power cord to insure no problems there and also the wall outlet. I am certain this is an electronic problem, if I remove the amp is it possible to fix without sending it back to Klipsch. They want $250 for a new amp, the sub is 3 years old so dropping $250 over looking into a new sub is questionable." "I bought a RW 12d a month ago. Worked great for about 5 movies, now it's dead and blows the fuse as soon as it's turned on." "The fuse he replaced it with went out immediately upon the sub being switched on. It was darkened as well. I helped him remove the board yesterday so he can send it off to be repaired." "Sorry to learn of theissues with your RT-12d subwoofer. Have you replaced thefuse? If so, were you using a "SLO BLO" type fuse? If you may have beenusing a fast acting fuse, these will blow immediately. If you havea Radio Shack near you, their part number for the appropriate slow blowfuse is: 270-1068. If it blows the slow blofuse, then the amplifier portion would need to be serviced and youwill want to contact our national electronics repair center for amp repairs. They provide this service for a $240.00flat fee (not including shipping)"

spyder152
Klipsch still sells new replacement plate amps, $250ish, with a one year warranty
derrickdj1
I wonder if the new amp sent by Klipsch will have the same problem?
