OK - now you've got me started! I work with space images all the time, so have quite a few favorite sites you all may find interesting ....

There are some great 1 meter/pixel Ikonos satellite images of various Earth locations in the SpaceImaging gallery:

For $10, you can buy hi-res digital snapshots of many locations (follow the "Browse and Buy" link).

There are lots of beautiful hi-res images from the Hubble Space Telescope available for free download here:

Follow the "Pictures Organized by Subject" link, and then "Solar System" -- I was involved in taking many of the Mars images released there :-)

Speaking of Mars, there are frequent releases of the new images from the Mars Odyssey and Mars Global Surveyor missions:

For a great collection of images from any of the planets, try NASA's Planetary Photojournal:

Just click on the planet, then you can search on the planet, moons, and various spacecraft. Many of these images (especially the Mars ones) can be many tens to a few hundred MB in size.

Follow the Realtime Data" link to "Sighting Opportunities", and you can check out when the ISS or shuttle are visible inb your area:
