hetmann
What is the input impedance of a khorn using an AA crossover? ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogs
Ray Garrison
There isn't really a "THE input impedance" of a khorn. The impedance varies fairly dramatically with frequency. In November of 1986 Audio magazine published a complete review including the complex impedance curves. If you can find a copy of that in a library, I think that's your best reference. Also, at this website: http://www.sundial.net/~rogerr/magrevaudio2.htm you can buy a copy of the review for $5. djk
If memory serves me correctly the Klipschorn dips down to 5R5 around 240hz and rises to 32R through the midrange dropping to 8R in the treble. Better tube amps will run them on the 8R tap, but may sound 'warmer or fuller' on the 4R tap.
hetmann
I am in the process of constructing my Moondogs. I decided on the 8 ohm tap. Thanks for your help. ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogs
