Pro Media 4.1 power prob

Hi there people.

I`ve got the first Pro Media 4.1 that were out..the one with out the headphone jack, and with out a power switch. Switch is only the cable.

So one day I`ve left the power cable in the surge, came back..spaekers still working. Put out the cable, came later like 3 hours later...put cable in....speaker doesn`t work.

I`ve open it and notice some MOSFET transistor weren`t good, also I`ve changed some resistor.

When I put the power cable in with out connecting the power supply to the system....I get power indication on m meter and when I connect the power supply to the system.. it freaks out.

Any one know what the prob could be...PLease

If ya know what it could be please mail me or reply...best is to mail me tso84@hotmail.com

helppppppppp

Thnx in advance

unpluging the speakers all the time caused this problem. you do not need to ever unplug them unless it will be a long time before you use them again, like weeks, or if there is a storm.

check the resistors and whatnot that you replaced, also the fuse.

you certainly voided your warranty, don't know what klipsch can do for you. what do you think would be helpful at this point to guide you on fixing them yourself? how much do you know about doing electrical work?

Look, the thing is that I don`t live in the US. I live in the Netherland Antilles.. Curacao. So It will cost me a lot of money to send the system to the US and returning it back.. Also it will take a long time. and perhaps by sending the system back it could have other defects so sending again it`s not an option.

So thats why I had to do it my self.

It sounds like they are the V2.400's. They are the one without a headphone jack.

Where did you get them? Is there a Klipsch Authorized Sales (and maybe service) center near you? Even if you have to corrispond by phone or E-mail with them, they might be able to assist you.

No, there is no Dealer near me....I`m not in the US.

I`m from the Antilles.

I bought them at Compusa, but that was a long time ago. Was when the first serie of 4.1 came out...the ones without phone jack.

I`ve emailed them alot of time, but didn`t get any reply. I know they`re busy al the time getting 1000 of emails a day... but I can`t wait till it`s my turn....I`ll be like 80`s then.

So any more help.......!!!
