THXAUDIO
Still Looking for 2 Klipsch 510 Horns
PrestonTom
As a substiute, would you be interested in some Electro-Voice HP640 horns. I just happen to have a pair in my den that I am selling. In comparison to the K-510, they are also 1) constant directivity, 2) load down to 500 Hz 3) can be used in a 2-way or 3-way configuration 4) 2 inch throat 5) control directivity down to 500 Hz in the horizontal and 1500 Hz in the vertical and 6) they sound quite good. I have used the HP640 and the K-510 on top of Jubilee bass bins before. In all honesty, the K-510 does sound better but the HP640 was still quite impressive. I mention them as an alternative since they are easier to find on the used market (and not concindentally, I am selling a pair). The downside is that they may be too large for your project (28 wide x 13 tall x 17 deep). The other downside that large horn are expensive to ship and could easily cost 75-100 to ship to Florida (I am guessing). In either case, good luck -Tom
THXAUDIO
Thanks for your response and I looked into those at first but for the reasons you mentioned is why I decided to go with the 510. Size does matter on this project. Thanks again.
PrestonTom
I am sure you will be quite happy with the K-510 horn. You'll be surprised by just how good a small horn can sound. -Tom
