absolve2525
I have a spare set of 1824M I picked up a while back, and figured it might be fun to compare with my current stock 86 Khorns with AK 2 crossovers. They're both screw on phenolic types. Has anyone used these? I'm curious how the top end roll off compares. Data file should be attached. 1824M EDS-1.pdf
moray james
try this link www.electrovoice.com/downloadfile.php?i=970321 I am not able to give you any first hand information but the 1824m does not look to have the necessary bandwidth at either end to substitute for the stock driver. I am sure there are others with experience who will comment. Hope this helps. Best regards Moray James.
absolve2525
Thanks for the reply! I tried substituting the 1824M yesterday. My impressions? Missing detail and snap on the top end of the midrange. Perhaps if the tweeter crossed over lower, then there wouldn't be a hole. With stock drivers and crossovers, it just sounds too lifeless and mellow. K55M, back you go!
absolve2525
I reinstalled the stock drivers. Ahhh, back to normal! B-)
