recording mp3s onto tape cassttee

ive been assured this is possible.

ive got a cable that has a headphone jack at 1 end and the 2 jacks red and white at the other end.

the sound entertainment system thing has 4 such coloured holes, 1 pair leads to the old style large disc thing (LPs?) the other pair is empty.

with my comp wires in the empty one (AUX) it plays great. with it in the other pair, (PHONO) its distorted.

however.

i cant get it to record to a tape. cd recording to tape works fine, but i cant get radio recording working either. and yes i am working out of the manual. it has a funny CRLS butten that i press and it blinks for 20 seconds then jack **** happens and i can stab at the record butten as much as i like.

the system is a kenwood midi m-27

any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

depends on the tape material, the recorder, the source.

with a cruddy tape material you won't get a lasting sound or a good soud to start off with. memorex will attest to this, the start of the Is It Live campaign they now use with their CD-R's and RW's. Aretha Franklin shattered glass in that commercial, if you find it, don't play it too loud on your pros Smile.gif

if you have a cruddy recorder, you will get hiss and crackle that even DNR can not get rid of.

and ofcourse, if you put in crap, you can expect crap out Smile.gif
