I got him an interact sound stage for video consoles. It says its allows for dvd and tv to play through it. His Tv only has 3 inputs and all are used. So, we were wondering if there is some sort of converter or if a crossover cable would work. he would like to get surround sound from the tv, without the console...its not a must, it would just be nice for him.

I just bought my brother a 5.1 video gaming console surround sound system. The question in mind is, since his tv doesn't support an out signal, is there a converter that will allow him to watch tv or dvds through the 5.1 system?

Well, its for my brothers car club. Here is what he is looking for: I need you to do me a favor. I need you to find and download a full working copy of a good video compression software. I am borrowing a friend's camera and it has the capability to download to a laptop, but he doesn't have the software handy. I don't know what is good, but if you could get that for me, that would be awesome. its 1/4 mile drag races.

anyone know of any good software for video compression?

If you really want to do it that bad, get a 2 track mixer. Or get a better tape deck and a y splitter....and yes, why would you want it on a cassette? that is like, totally, so old school. Tapes sound good actualy.
