Bernard
Hi, just received an Ecio HF-81 and there is no fuse in it. Could someone kindly enough peak into there HF-81 to see what type of fuse is it. Thanks Ivan
mobile homeless
The EICO HF-81 incorporates a 3 amp fuse. However, if the fuse is not installed in the unit, this could mean that it was blowing with frequency. Although this might just be an oversite, the absence of a fuse is a bit problematic. Please be careful in testing your new amp. Optimally, you would use a Variac to slowly bring the power up. One can be made with a simple light bulb actually. If you do want to go ahead, at the very least, make sure you have no larger than a 3amp fuse (you might even elect to go with a smaller value to start). Just be ready when powering the beast up to pull the cable if you see any problems. Did the previous owner mention any problems with the amp or why the fuse was missing? Good luck and I hope it's just missing the fuse and not some other more telling problem. kh Phono Linn Sondek LP-12 Valhalla / Linn Basic Plus / Sumiko Blue Point CD Player Rega Planet Preamp Cary Audio SLP-70 w/Phono Modified Amplifier Welborne Labs 2A3 Moondog Monoblocks Cable DIYCable Superlative / Twisted Cross Connect Speaker 1977 Klipsch Cornwall I w/Alnico & Type B Crossover Links system one online / alternate components / Asylum Listing f>s> This message has been edited by mobile homeless on 07-01-2002 at 12:37 AM

NOSValves
I will second Mobile's comment. Start the unit vary carefully. You may find theres no problem and someone just used the fuse in another amp or something. I would buy a 2 amp to start with and see how it goes. It will work fine with a 2 amp anyway's. The lamp with a light bulb works well but takes some taping and cutting of wires and spicing and so on.
