D113
I have a pair of sub 12's. The older of the two has a new problem. Blue light is on just fine, amp seems to go up and down power wise no problem however there's a constant tone in the sound from this sub. I've eliminated the LFE RCA cable as being the issue because the other sub works fine. General trouble shooting methods would indicate I should swap the amps to see if the problem follows the amp or stays with the driver but I'm hours away from selling the good one. Is this indicative of a blown amplifier stage or the drivers voice coil being fried? I see to remember about 10 years ago having a similar issue with a different brand of sub and it ended up just being the amp as the sub worked great afterwards as a passive driver when powered. Thanks!
CECAA850
Do a quick amp swap. That's most likely your problem.
