BAZMANN
do any of the members have or know where I can find pedestals for forte speakers. I just purchased a pair that did not have pedestals. there were no screw holes in the bottom, so I guess they did not have them to begin with. I am going to refinish and replace every thing but the resonaters. any help would be appreciated. thanks. JB
moray james
I have a set of Quartet risers in walnut but I just checked and they are 1/4" deeper than a Forte so that won't help. You should place your Forte up on some four post stands 14 - 16 inches high as that will place the centre of the mid horn at your seated listening level this will provide you with the very best stage and image possible. Best regards Moray James. PS: the picture attached is of a Harbeth M40 up on Skylan four post stands. The M40 is very similar in size to a Forte so you can easily imagine how good a Forte will look on stands like these. While the Skylan is not inexpensive it is the best on the market and far less than many other such stands especially steel which is a poor material for stands from a sonic point of view. You can make stands of your own for less and you can fashion them after the Skylan stand. The Forte ll that I modified and gave to my son (who is tall) are up on Skylan four post stands which are 16 inches high the look and sound excellent.
