Pictures show three of the four bottom corners are open slightly. This is all along the edge of all three, front to back. The bottoms must have been near moisture in the past causing this expansion. This is how I bought them. They are air tight and give great bass for their cabinet size. Stock components and grilles are all in great shape. I do not want to ship. Local sale please in Madison, WI area. They're not really a floor stander and calling them bookshelf speakers is a stretch. At the same time it's funny how lots of 'civilians' around me do not describe them as small!
