Orange Peel
This has probably been beaten to death, but I will ask anyways What are you guys using for your cables? Monster cable, etc? I'm getting the Polk PSW650 next week to go with my RF-3's and RC-3, and I would like to get a nice sub cable to go with it. http://www.polkaudio.com/home/products.php?category=7&speaker=48 If I'm not happy with the sub I will be buying a SVS PCi 16-46 instead. Thanks for any input! ------------------ Scott
boa12
scott, i use a monsterbass 400 & it works fine though there may be better for less. i'd just look for good quality construction & parts, at least double shielding, & a solid core conductor. i like audioquest interconnects too. many advocate a like a 75ohm video cable works as well at least soundwise. like a radio shack gold for around $10. for online i usually use www.audioadvisor.com or www.accessories4less.com or www.partsexpress.com ------------------ My Home Systems Page This message has been edited by boa12 on 08-07-2002 at 08:15 PM
Orange Peel
Thanks for the quick reply Boa! Your monsterbass cable is made by Monster Cable I would guess right? Did you use a y connector or splitter to hook up the left and right on the back of the sub from the single cable? Or did you go into just one? I will check out those online sources, thanks a ton! ------------------ Scott
boa12
yes the mb 400 came w/ a Y-adapter which i use. otherwise Y-adapter or cables are just a few bucks. doesn't increase output using both inputs w/ Y for most subs, but i find the sub wakes from standby more readily w/ it. ------------------ My Home Systems Page
Orange Peel
Cool beans! I will be using one for sure then, hey, it couldn't hurt right? Now I just need to pick one ------------------ Scott
dougdrake
Oddly, on my SVS Scott, using both inputs DOES increase the db's a tad even though the owner's manual says it won't make a difference. Doug ------------------ My System
TheEAR
Go with the Monster MonsterBass 400,good subwoofer interconect. I use only the finest(he he)Z BASS 100 interconacts(Sunfire and Klipsch RSW10) and M Series BASS 1000(on Aerial,Revel and Velodyne only). These are some of the very finest subwoofer interconects but cost...more,much more. Orange Peel
Doug - Thanks, since most of the cables come with the adapter, I'll just use it anyways, no harm done with it I guess I need to get a SPL meter to test out stuff too. TheEar - Thanks, I'll go ahead and get the MonsterBass 400 then, where's the cheapest place to get it? Thanks in advance! ------------------ Scott
