The History Kid
There's a bit of a story here - so brace yourselves. These were being used as Zone 2 speakers for the dining area of the house. One day my brother brought over his extremely energetic Belgian Malinois that has a lethal tail. Alas - when Jamo built these speakers - they did not have the foresight for little children that do not care about covers nor the runaway effect of a dogs tail. "Ralph's" tail went through the grill and left a nice dent on the dust cap. From what I have heard, the voice coil is just fine - but it was a reason to finally upgrade the Jamo speakers to a pair of Reference bookshelf speakers - so we went with that. I know I don't have to tell anyone here about the cost of dust cover replacement. Actually, in the past I did have that other speaker's dust caps replaced...didn't cost much. So, there is a dent in the dust cap of one woofer, and one of the grills support beam in the center is held together with electrical tape (I don't remember who did that, but it doesn't sound like a me fix). That's the extent of the damage on these. $50 local pickup takes them for forum members. They're 4 ohm spec, 90 RMS driven with a sensitivity of 89 dB from what I can find. They respond from 43 Hz, and they do indeed dig pretty well for such a small floor stander. Dual 6" cones and a 1" tweet.
