Mighty Favog
There might be something wrong with the DD chip, a ground probably. From there it sounds like the receiver is going into it a circuit protection mode to keep from frying anything else out. ------------------ Tom's Money Pit
cluless
Make sure that your receiver is not set to External Input. Look in your manual(yes, that wonderful little book that no one can seem to understand) pgs 42+, and make sure your settings are correct for what you are trying to do. Check all your connections also, my unit went into protection mode when one of the speakers was disconnected. Good Luck.
Guest BobG
Check the speaker wires for center, rears, sides. You may have a pinched wire causing a short. The receiver goes into protect - shut down when it sees a short. Carefully check the speaker terminals on the back of the receiver to be certain there are no stray strands of wire shorting there as well. kenratboy
I second all advice! Also, is any wire touching the CASE? Not just another terminal? Is there an Ohm setting? Is there a short on the speakers? HOW LONG BEFORE IT SHUTS OFF? Good luck!!! I hope you can exchange the unit if it is the problem! ------------------ Receiver: Sony STR-DE675 CD player: Sony CDP-CX300 Turntable: Technics SL-J3 with Audio-Technica TR485U Speakers: JBL HLS-610 Subwoofer: JBL 4648A-8 Sub amp: Parts Express 180 watt Center/surrounds: Teac 3-way bookshelfs Yes, it sucks, but better to come.
