m00n
So last tuesday I finally decided to make my "Saving Private Ryan" DTS DVD purchase. Not finding it here local in the few stores I tried, I ordered from Amazon. I opted for the two day service. Mind you I said 2 day service on shipping. I wanted 2 day service because I wanted it by Friday so I could watch it over the weekend. So, as I said, I ordered it last Tuesday here it is Monday, I still don't have my DVD. Moral of the story? Just because you purchase 2 day service does not mean your gonna get it in two days. ------------------ m00nsCinema to be the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Harman Kardon DVD-50(DD, DTS) VIDEO: InFocus ScreenPlay DLP Projector COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f> This message has been edited by m00n on 08-19-2002 at 10:31 AM

Malcolm
Yep, two day shipping may not get it to you when you want it. It all depends on how fast the seller can get it on its way. Last time I ordered a DVD from Amazon, it took them a few days to get it in the mail. And as they state in their description of two day shipping, it does not include that time. What did their delivery time estimate?

Amazon had the order for 2.5 days, and UPS has had it ever since As a matter of fact, I am looking at the shipping info now. UPS got the shipment at Aug 14th, 2:29 am which was what early Wednesday morning, so it seems to me that UPS dropped the ball on this one. They had the 14th, 15th and 16th to get it delivored. ------------------ m00nsCinema to be the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Harman Kardon DVD-50(DD, DTS) VIDEO: InFocus ScreenPlay DLP Projector COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f> This message has been edited by m00n on 08-19-2002 at 02:30 PM
kenratboy
Damn!!! Same here!!! I ordered some techno from Amazon, and it is usually here in 2-3 days, like over 10 orders. It has been almost a week, nothing. One is coming USPS, and isn't here yet, the other was UPS, from 40 miles from my house, and it SHOULD be here Wed. They said today origionally. I think I will have to try Tower or B&N next time. I can't trust Amazon, they are s l o w . ------------------ Receiver: Sony STR-DE675 CD player: Sony CDP-CX300 Turntable: Technics SL-J3 with Audio-Technica TR485U Speakers: JBL HLS-610 Subwoofer: JBL 4648A-8 Sub amp: Parts Express 180 watt Center/surrounds: Teac 3-way bookshelfs Yes, it sucks, but better to come. Malcolm
UPS shipping has been pretty reliable for me, at least for stuff coming from the west coast, just about always two days. I did have one package delayed because somewhere along the line it got routed in the wrong in the wrong direction. Package destined for nothern California from L.A. area started its trip on the way to Arizona but was quickly turned around.

kenratboy
Yeah, my Amazon order is coming from Kentucky, it made it to Phoenix, then went to Albuquerque, and is now arrived back in Phoenix. They have been reliable in the past, but I am DYING for these CD's... ------------------ Receiver: Sony STR-DE675 CD player: Sony CDP-CX300 Turntable: Technics SL-J3 with Audio-Technica TR485U Speakers: JBL HLS-610 Subwoofer: JBL 4648A-8 Sub amp: Parts Express 180 watt Center/surrounds: Teac 3-way bookshelfs Yes, it sucks, but better to come.
