m00n
Will cat5 be good enough to use for creating a cable to go from my receivers online screen display out, to the input of my video? If so, would I use all wires or just pick one and only use it? And I am assuming just plain jane RCA connectors would work fine. yes? kenratboy
Are you talking about a on screen display output going to your TV? If so, anything should work, however, I don't know how small the letters are, REALLY SUPER CHEAP RCA may fuzz up letters. ------------------ Receiver: Sony STR-DE675 CD player: Sony CDP-CX300 Turntable: Technics SL-J3 with Audio-Technica TR485U Speakers: JBL HLS-610 Subwoofer: JBL 4648A-8 Sub amp: Parts Express 180 watt Center/surrounds: Teac 3-way bookshelfs Yes, it sucks, but better to come. m00n
Ken, Yes, it is the receivers setup menu that I want to see. Since moving my eqipment out to the theater room I have not yet had a chance to re-adjust my speaker settings. ------------------ m00nsCinema to be the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Harman Kardon DVD-50(DD, DTS) VIDEO: InFocus ScreenPlay DLP Projector COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>
kenratboy
Try it! Worst case ,you are out a few dollars in cableing and you try somthing different. CAT 5 is tough stuff, and long runs are fine. ------------------ Receiver: Sony STR-DE675 CD player: Sony CDP-CX300 Turntable: Technics SL-J3 with Audio-Technica TR485U Speakers: JBL HLS-610 Subwoofer: JBL 4648A-8 Sub amp: Parts Express 180 watt Center/surrounds: Teac 3-way bookshelfs Yes, it sucks, but better to come. While you're at it, you can braid some fine speaker wire, too!! Doug ------------------ My System
WMcD
I expect the wire and RCAs would work well enough. I use plain old audio connectors to send video from the DVD to the tube. Gil
