In watching the example, all my feeble mind could tell me was that the longer pendulum required a longer path per oscillation, which, to me, is kind of like measuring the amplitude. Jim Naseum Posted October 28, 2015 Share Posted October 28, 2015 Yeah, I agree. It's hard not to see "amplitude" in this model of oscillation. If you imagine a sine wave, the peak would be the left side maximum, and the trough would be the right hand max swing. The length of the string is then changes the frequency.
