kenratboy
Well, I am fudging around and looking for a home theater system for downstairs. It is NOT a music system (like <1%, and thats background music) and is ONLY and will ALWAYS be for TV/home theater. With a adequatly powerful Pioneer receiver, would this be the best system for ~<$1000? 85% is DSS, 10% is DVD's (soon to be more...), and 5% is antenna local news. So this is mostly a stereo for DSS, and then it plays HT on weekends. I will probably buy the surrounds anyway, and we have a Jamo 8" subwoofer now, so going to a 10" would be good, and we have $10/each KLH speakers for the front three now. Should I presue this system? Is there a better system? BTW, the mains MUST be smallish bookshelf speakers. Thanks!!! ------------------ Receiver: Sony STR-DE675 CD player: Sony CDP-CX300 Turntable: Technics SL-J3 with Audio-Technica TR485U Speakers: JBL HLS-610 Subwoofer: JBL 4648A-8 Sub amp: Parts Express 180 watt Center/surrounds: Teac 3-way bookshelfs Yes, it sucks, but better to come. KLIPSCH soon! My computer is better than my stereo! For JBL related subjects and more fun, click: http://www.audioheritage.org
justin_tx_16
i liked ours. but we changed out teh front book shelfs with the SF-2's and moved the bookshelfs from teh front to the rear. sounded better to me that way. good for movies, not for music, so should work for you. the KSW's leaves much to be desired however. I would look at a Paradigm system similarly priced. ------------------ -justin SoundWise promediatech@Klipsch.com /1-888-554-5665 - RA# 800-554-7724 ext 5s> Email Me

tpg
Try some places that give good deals on these things, like: Consumer Electronics Superstore Acoustic Sound Design Sound Distributors- can't find page... They don't give the Klispch warranty, but can get you good prices. You can then get twice the system for the same price. Or check eBay for some Classic series, or maybe some used stuff... ------------------ SoundWise / ProMedia Tech Support / 1-888-554-5665s>
ColaBear
I have the System 6 setup on my everyday system (see signature). Viewing for this is probably 90% DSS/HDTV and 10% occasional movie (if I don't feel like firing up the big system). I did upgrade the sub to a KSW12 instead of the KSW10 that comes standard with it. It won't "Rock the House", but it does do a very good job as it sits.
