chrisreiffel
i have just purchased a pair of 1972 corner horns and i am stoked! Been dreaming of these all my life and lucky enough to purchase as a"barn find'!!!! Will be married with my Dynaco mark 3s and Audio Research Pre Amp However the crossovers (type AA) are in need of attention. Firstly I need to recap....Has anyone used the obbligato capacitors in their crossover in either oil cap or premium film? Which would be better suited? i need 2uf they don't make it from what I can see so should i opt for the 2.2 or get two of the 1uf? Also need 13uf. Whats better a 12uf or two x 6.8uf? These are from DIY HIFI Supply Sure there will be many more questions on this journey and look forward to your ideas and expertise.
jimjimbo
Congratulations on your acquisition of the Khorns! I seem to recall your posting in another thread about these same caps.....? May I ask why you are fixed on the Obbligato caps? If all of the drivers in your "new" Khorns are in good shape, I think you would be quite satisfied with other more readily available (and applicable) caps. chrisreiffel
I started a new thread only because the last one sort of got me nowhere... i am in Australia and its availability that had me looking at that particular cap... it reviewed well. I am certainly asking for suggestions and recommendations for other caps.. What are the ones you are thinking of?
