Futurist
I will upgrade later, And get the best... But I want something to enjoy for watching movies now and for the holidays.. I have RF 82's for my main speakers.. I can only spend a very small amount for now.. Should I get small bookshelf Klipsch R-14m... Or I can get some monster KG 4.5's. I know Rear speakers don't need all that bass and volume but I can put them on the small setting.. Or do you think that is a bad match.. Of course both of these aren't preferred and all you audiophiles are sickened by thee injustice.. But I just want anything for the next 3 weeks... A1UC
Surrounds are not the critical just toss something on there tell you get what you want , maybe something you can use elsewhere afterwards Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ceptorman
Hit Craigslist or pawn shops for something cheap for now, or like A1UC said, buy something you can use later. Do you have a center? It's way more important than surrounds.
Futurist
Just now, Ceptorman said: Hit Craigslist or pawn shops for something cheap for now, or like A1UC said, buy something you can use later. I have a full Polk 5.1 many miles away in FL but when I heard the RF 82's I can't go back to the Polk's..
Ceptorman
I hear you....I have some Polks in a closet somewhere. An RC62 is the matching center for your 82s, that's an awesome front three, it would really compliment your RF82s.
Ceptorman
This thread might get more attention in the Home Theater section. Might take a friendly mod to move it

And when I went to post this today the logo is still there and it won't let me type anything.. I click in the box and it somehow blocked me from typing.. I just tried again and I can't post.. How do I move this post?

chriswhotakesphotos
The R-14M is a great bargain speaker, I have a pair of their predecessors (the Synergy B-10) and they're great. That said, I'd choose the KGs over them if you can manage. I'm actually going to be having similar considerations soon (I want to get one of those new Emotiva MC-700s, so I'll have surround at last) since I have a bunch of mismatched speakers. In the interest of space savings I'll probably use the RP-280Fs as surrounds, although the KG 5.2s I have would probably be a little closer to the Heresy's timbre. I'll be stuck using one of those B-10s as a center until I find something more suitable, but it'll do.
