hey, I am considering RF-3's or RF-5's for an upgrade from SF-2's in my system. Will be using a Mcintosh amp, and a B&K pre amp, in the future some home made tubes. sub is an RSW-15. thanks for suggestions.

Hey, Are you Trevor? Just wondering, I've read alot of these forums and see your name poppin up. Pretty impressive system you've got there. I'm 15 and live in Georgia. I've been into audio ever since my neghbor gave me and old yamaha amp about 5 years ago. My systems no where near yours, but one day hopefully. This Christmas I plan to uprgade to RP-3 mains, RS-3 surounds and a rc 3 center. Right now I have a Pioneer VSX-D850S reciever and soon a Pioneer DV 656A DVD player. I have JBL mains and Yamaha surrounds, and am using the old Yamaha my neighbor gave me to power my 15" DBX sub. Not, bad but speakers need replacing. About your floorstanders, both the RF-3 and the RF-5 will sound terrific. You could always just buy the RF-3 and buy more music. I mean no matter how much stereo equipment you have, it's piontless without music. Whatever you decide will sound great. Hope to hear a response from you.

Thanks.

hey stephen! yeah, the Mcintosh amp and the RSW-15 are kind of the top points of my system right now. I'm only 14, and can't wait to get some better floorstanders. I think I'll go with the RF-5's, they look the best, plus the 7's won't fit in my room too well. I have to get stuff mom will like. lol. if you have an instant messanger screen name, maybe we can talk sometime.

You guys should listen to the Heritage Speakers (probably made before you guys were born). You can pick up a pair of La Scalas or Cornwalls for under a grand and they blow away the RF-7s in my opinion. In fact, you could pick up a pair of Heresy speakers for around $450 used. They sound unbelievable...you ought to check them out.

I don't have the room for Lascala's and I don't have the option of putting the heresy's on stands. Only floorstanders.
