John Haas
Hi would like to know if any one has tried a denon poa2200 power amp and pra1200 pre amp on forte LL speakers? Speakers have been crites tweeter upgrade, and crossover redone. My avr recievier just doesn't do the job and is a pain to go from 7.1 to 2 channel . beining a knob guy to anjust tone ect looking for something else. Low on money now the denon works fine on other speakers , hopeing it will work with the forte II, know its a lot more power than required but I have it now what do you think, tubes in future when have more funds. rah
I owned the POA-2200 back when I had Magnepan speakers - I thought it was an ok amp, fairly neutral, wished it was a little warmer, but hey, the Maggies are demanding. My brother has a POA-2400 he uses on his Chorus II's and it does a good job on them in my opinion. No reason the 2200 wouldn't do a good job on the Forte II's and at least be a bit better than the AVR.
willland
I have driven my Fortes with a PRA-1500/POA-1500 as well as a couple of Denon PMA integrated amps and the combinations have been wonderful. Great punchy fast bass drive with neutral mid-range and detailed highs. Bill
