HDBRbuilder Posted May 5, 2019 Share Posted May 5, 2019 My dear Niece Jannah in the Philippines posted the below pic the other day....and for those of you who have been following the China/Philippines territorial waters issue news...you will understand The background story is this...for decades, the Philippines territorial waters claims have been internationally honored...that is UNTIL a few years back when their WESTERN territorial waters were discovered to contain a vast crude oil reserve under the sea there, in an areas where the Philippines territorial waters SLIGHTLY overlapped the territorial waters claim of Viet Nam...which was considered "just fine" by both of the parties concerned...UNTIL, China invoked their OWN claim to the entire South China Sea....and began encroachment moves into those waters to go as far as building artificial islands, along with laying claim to islands which are a part of the Philippines, while severely harassing the Philippines Navy gunboats patrolling the area! Recently, a major Chinese media television news outlet stated that "the Philippines belongs to China"...which has put all of the Filipinos into a angry fit! Other than the USA, it seems all other nations are bowing out to China's claim...and this past week….here comes The Marvel Universe clearly stating its OWN stand on this...which has the Filipino YOUTH cheering LOUDLY!!
